We'll be staying at the Sunset CP for 4 nights, Normanton for 3, Adels
Grove 5, Gergory downs 2.......and many more places.......
-----------------------------------------------
When in Normanton, you must do a trip on THE GULFLANDER.
Great trip...even if it is a bit 'bumpy'. Take an extra cushion and don't
forget the camera!!!
Nothing in Normanton itself, do your shopping at the FIRST supermarket (on
the right) as you come into the town. I think its a 4 square. Looks like a
small grocery store rather than a supermarket! It is MUCH cheaper than the
one near the pub in the town. All food in the town is super expensive.
If staying at the CP in town, cannot remember its name - could be something
to do with a fish???
It is VERY dusty there, don't take anything WHITE......very basic, people
are friendly.
But why not stop at the rest area out of town on the way to Karumba?
Heaps of people stay there and a good way to meet up with like minded
travellers. Has basic toilets and plenty of flat parking areas.
cheers,
Leone
