Newbie checking in

Hi there

I joined the Yahoo Campervan group today, and had a browse through some posts.   I then found the one mentioning this Forum and thought I would do my usual and jump in feet first.

I live in the UK (hence the username Smile ) with my husband, Jeff.   We are planning to become Grey Nomads doing The Big Trip, hopefully leaving the UK this summer (UK summer that is).    We've both lived in Australia - in the '60s - and had holidays in recent years, but there is so much to see there that we feel the only way to do it is by taking a year.   I just hope that we can get year-long Visas.

Our plan is to buy a motorhome as soon after arrival as possible.   Not even sure where to start, but Darwin in your winter would seem quite sensible.   The only problem with that is the availability of a suitable rig.   A friend has told me that Newcastle, NSW is a hotbed of motorhomers, so it would seem that it would be better to start there.   We'll just have to play it by ear and see what happens.

Regards
Westair

Welcome to the Forum- I am sure you will get plenty of help on here. The forum founder Leone has been right round and her Blog and many postings have lots of info.

Your web and photosite looks good- loved the canal shots. Always wanted to do that.
